This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the operations of the Animal Control Department. The Director manages daily field and administrative activities, supervises assigned personnel, and ensures enforcement of County ordinances and applicable state laws regarding stray, dangerous, nuisance, and unwanted domestic animals. This is a hands-on director position that requires active participation in the daily operations of the Animal Control Department.

This position provides education and coordinates community risk reduction events to educate the community on pertinent medical issues that have a widespread impact on the patient population. Coordinates needed resources for the patient population to include but not limited to behavioral health services, substance abuse services, and home health services. Responds with the crews to assist with call load and high EMS utilization issues.
