The Firefighter EMT is a responsible technical and professional position involved in the prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires in order to protect life and property, as well as perform emergency medical procedures. A Firefighter EMT performs a variety of tasks that require skill, proficiency and specialized training. Activities require the use of sound judgment and the ability to make decisions under stressful or emergency circumstances in accordance with accepted firefighting techniques, practices and procedures. Firefighters provide assistance to the citizens of the community to ensure the protection of life and property. Work performance is evaluated while in progress and based on observation of results and periodic written reports.

The Firefighter PMD is a responsible technical and professional position involved in the prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires in order to protect life and property, as well as perform emergency medical procedures. A Firefighter/Paramedic performs a variety of tasks that require the use of sound judgement and the ability to make decisions under stressful or emergency circumstances in accordance with accepted firefighting techniques, practices and procedures. Firefighters provide assistance to the citizens of the community to ensure the protection of life and property. Additionally, he or she must render assistance to persons requiring emergency medical treatment and transport. They must perform in accordance with the medical protocols set forth by the department and the Medical Director.

This position is responsible for the planning, coordinating, oversight and execution of County projects, grant programs, and contractual agreements along with drafting, reviewing, and administering contracts for goods, services, and projects. The position ensures that all grants and contracts comply with applicable laws, County policies, and funding requirements while doing so in a timely manner and safeguarding the County’s financial and operational interests. The role combines technical, administrative, and analytical skills to manage multiple initiatives that advance the County’s operational goals. Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional site visits to project locations. Hours of operation are 8:30a-5:00p and you may be required to attend evening or weekend meetings. This position is full-time with benefits including health, vision, dental and Florida Retirement.
