This position provides education and coordinates community risk reduction events to educate the community on pertinent medical issues that have a widespread impact on the patient population. Coordinates needed resources for the patient population to include but not limited to behavioral health services, substance abuse services, and home health services. Responds with the crews to assist with call load and high EMS utilization issues.

The Firefighter EMT is a responsible technical and professional position involved in the prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires in order to protect life and property, as well as perform emergency medical procedures. A Firefighter EMT performs a variety of tasks that require skill, proficiency and specialized training. Activities require the use of sound judgment and the ability to make decisions under stressful or emergency circumstances in accordance with accepted firefighting techniques, practices and procedures. Firefighters provide assistance to the citizens of the community to ensure the protection of life and property. Work performance is evaluated while in progress and based on observation of results and periodic written reports.

The Firefighter PMD is a responsible technical and professional position involved in the prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires in order to protect life and property, as well as perform emergency medical procedures. A Firefighter/Paramedic performs a variety of tasks that require the use of sound judgement and the ability to make decisions under stressful or emergency circumstances in accordance with accepted firefighting techniques, practices and procedures. Firefighters provide assistance to the citizens of the community to ensure the protection of life and property. Additionally, he or she must render assistance to persons requiring emergency medical treatment and transport. They must perform in accordance with the medical protocols set forth by the department and the Medical Director.
